THE MISFIT
Directed by Robert Morson
performed at St Mungo's Church, February 1964
This was the first production performed by the newly formed group, named The Hilltop Players. This troupe of amateur actors first met in September 1963 in St Mungo's Church Hut in Cumbernauld.
Seven people turned up including a girl called Margaret Harvey. Since then she ha married and is now better known as Margaret Clark. She is the only person from the original seven still associated with the players.
The first Hilltop Players' production was put on in February 1964 and the cast was Jean Bruce, Wilma Knox, Mrs Butler, Margaret Harvey, Iris Millet, Mrs MacIntosh and Margaret Myles.
Three more plays followed and then came the decision to break the links with St Mungo's Church and to change the name. The first meeting of the Apex Players was held in January 1967.
